On August 24th, Bussum experienced a fantastic poker afternoon at Café ’t Snookertje! With 95 enthusiastic players, 45 re-entries and a unique Mystery Bounty concept, it was a day full of excitement, fun, and prizes. Jesse Jonkman took home the top prize, while everyone left with a reward or goodie. Mark your calendar for December 21st: the Mystery Bounty concept will return during the X-mas Special!
🎉 A sold-out tournament full of action
All 100 spots were sold out in advance – a great sign of how strong the local poker community is. Ultimately, 95 players sat down at the tables, with 45 re-entries on top, creating a buzzing atmosphere filled with unexpected turns and bluff-heavy hands.
🎉 Special Guest
Marcel Luske, a.k.a. The Flying Dutchman, made time to be present throughout the afternoon and evening. We’re thankful for his presence – as always, he brought good vibes, shared advice, and entertained the tables. Marcel was eventually knocked out in 24th place but had already won several bounties – which he generously gave away to other players!
Some lucky fans grabbed a photo with the poker legend or even scored an autograph on Marcel Luske-branded goodies. He took plenty of time for everyone and left the venue with a smile just before the final table kicked off.
🃏 Mystery Bounty: the new crowd favorite
One of the highlights of the day was the Mystery Bounty format:
- 80 prizes handed out for knocking out a player
- Prizes included wine, tickets, snacks, drinks, gadgets, and more
- Some players collected multiple bounties
- No one left empty-handed – every participant received a goodie like a card protector or bottle opener
Players loved the format so much that it’s returning for the X-mas Special on December 21st – don’t miss it!
🔥 Hand of the day
Ashley Ras picked up pocket Aces and made a standard pre-flop raise. The flop came K-Q-x, and she fired a continuation bet. Two opponents shoved all-in behind her. Ashley made a tough but correct fold – and both opponents turned over KQ!
The turn was a blank… but the river was an Ace. A painful runout, sure – but the fold was spot on, as she was miles behind after the flop.
